[[RRR Flight Model Preview|http://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob_dev/FM_RRR-3-18-07.rar]]\n\n+++[Notes from BlueSix on the RRR Flight Model]\nIn keeping with our philosophy of progressing enhancing the fidelity of the BoB II Flight Models, we have devised and evaluated a number of incremental FM improvements subsequent to Patch 2.05, and are making these available for your preview and use. Three of these changes involve the entire range of player-flyable aircraft. Firstly, increased induced drag should be evident in more realistic energy bleed during manoeuvres and while preparing to land. Secondly, adjustments to the AI FMs have addressed the longstanding issue of AI-flown aircraft being faster than the same aircraft when player-flown. Finally, the global change most apparent to the player involves roll rates - the maximum achievable roll rates for both player- and AI-flown FMs have been reduced considerably. Although this change in roll performance is very noticeable initially, Beta testers have noted that they quickly adjusted, and saw improvements both in the quality of their own flying and in the manoeuvring of the AI-flown aircraft, with no loss of immersiveness. Note that these reduced roll rates still remain somewhat in excess of real world figures; the gap will be closed further in the next coordinated FM update (see "Future FM Plans" below). \n\nOther minor FM improvements for specific aircraft types include: \n\na. adjustment to Rolls Royce and Daimler Benz engine output at various altitudes. In the case of the former, this change reflects the use of 100 octane avgas and higher boost levels, and addresses a shortfall in the low level, straight and level maximum speeds of the two RAF fighters in the current FM; \n\nb. slight relocation of the centre of gravity of the Bf109, to impart additional longitudinal stability and make manoeuvring and landing somewhat easier; \n\nc. a number of minor dimensional corrections to the Spitfire, and one major correction (fin/rudder area) which should reduce the side to side oscillation seen occasionally when bringing guns to bear on target; \n\nd. several changes to the Ju87 - in particular, dive brake effectiveness has been increased to limit terminal velocity in the 80 degree delivery to approximately 540 kph, both maximum straight and level and landing speeds have been reduced, and the pitch trim change due to flaps has been neutralized to reflect the automatic compensation mechanism found in the RW aircraft; and \n\ne. slight adjustment to the effectiveness of the elevator trim of the Bf110, in anticipation of a related code improvement to be included with Patch 2.06. Similar elevator trim changes have been made to the Spitfire, Hurricane and Stuka. \n\nBoB II players interested in previewing these FM changes are invited to download them here: \n\nhttp://www.shockwaveproductions.com/bob_dev/FM_RRR-3-18-07.rar \n\nNote: these files must be installed in the Battle of Britain II \s Models folder. As always, it is recommended that users back up the contents of this folder before installing the updated files. \n\n\n\nFuture FM Plans. Both the Bf110 and the Ju87 FM require considerable further work to bring them up to the expected standard. Our intent is to pursue this in concert with the next coordinated FM update; work on this has already begun. A key feature of this update will be incorporation of more representative wing airfoil performance data, in place of the simplified approach taken by Rowan and incorporated in all BoB II FMs to this point. This change is significant and will require considerable research as well as a number of supporting improvements to the FM code - it is therefore some way off. \n\nIn the interim, the FM improvements at the link above are offered as an option for your preview and use." \n\n\nHope this sounds OK. \n\nBest wishes, \n\nKen\n===\n\n\n[[New Desktop Icons |http://shockwaveproductions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2652]]\n\n

Use {{{+++}}} and {{{===}}} to delimit the slider content. You can also 'nest' these sliders as deep as you like (see complex nesting example below), so that expandable 'tree-like' hierarchical displays can be created. This is most useful when converting existing in-line text content to create in-line annotations, footnotes, context-sensitive help, or other subordinate information displays.\n\nAdditional optional syntax elements let you specify\n*default to open\n*cookiename\n*heading level\n*floater (with optional CSS width value)\n*mouse auto rollover\n*custom class/label/tooltip/accesskey\n*automatic blockquote\n*deferred rendering\nThe complete syntax, using all options, is:\n//{{{\n++++(cookiename)!!!!!^width^*{{class{[label=key|tooltip]}}}>...\ncontent goes here\n===\n//}}}\nwhere:\n* {{{+++}}} (or {{{++++}}}) and {{{===}}}^^\nmarks the start and end of the slider definition, respectively. When the extra {{{+}}} is used, the slider will be open when initially displayed.^^\n* {{{(cookiename)}}}^^\nsaves the slider opened/closed state, and restores this state whenever the slider is re-rendered.^^\n* {{{!}}} through {{{!!!!!}}}^^\ndisplays the slider label using a formatted headline (Hn) style instead of a button/link style^^\n* {{{^width^}}} (or just {{{^}}})^^\nmakes the slider 'float' on top of other content rather than shifting that content downward. 'width' must be a valid CSS value (e.g., "30em", "180px", "50%", etc.). If omitted, the default width is "auto" (i.e., fit to content)^^\n* {{{*}}}^^\nautomatically opens/closes slider on "rollover" as well as when clicked^^\n* {{{{{class{[label=key|tooltip]}}}}}}^^\nuses custom label/tooltip/accesskey. {{{{{class{...}}}}}}, {{{=key}}} and {{{|tooltip}}} are optional. 'class' is any valid CSS class name, used to style the slider label text. 'key' must be a ''single letter only''. Default labels/tootips are: ">" (more) and "<" (less), with no default access key assignment.^^\n* {{{">"}}} //(without the quotes)//^^\nautomatically adds blockquote formatting to slider content^^\n* {{{"..."}}} //(without the quotes)//^^\ndefers rendering of closed sliders until the first time they are opened. //Note: deferred rendering may produce unexpected results in some cases. Use with care.//^^\n\n//Note: to make slider definitions easier to read and recognize when editing a tiddler, newlines immediately following the {{{+++}}} 'start slider' or preceding the {{{===}}} 'end slider' sequence are automatically supressed so that excess whitespace is eliminated from the output.//\n===\n++++!!!!![Examples]>\nsimple in-line slider: \n{{{\n+++\n content\n===\n}}}\n+++\n content\n===\n----\nuse a custom label and tooltip: \n{{{\n+++[label|tooltip]\n content\n===\n}}}\n+++[label|tooltip]\n content\n===\n----\ncontent automatically blockquoted: \n{{{\n+++>\n content\n===\n}}}\n+++>\n content\n===\n----\nall options combined //(default open, cookie, heading, sized floater, rollover, class, label/tooltip/key, blockquoted, deferred)//\n{{{\n++++(testcookie)!!!^30em^*{{big{[label=Z|click or press Alt-Z to open]}}}>...\n content\n===\n}}}\n++++(testcookie)!!!^30em^*{{big{[label=Z|click or press Alt-Z to open]}}}>...\n content\n===\n----\ncomplex nesting example:\n{{{\n+++^[get info...=I|click for information or press Alt-I]\n put some general information here, plus a floating slider with more specific info:\n +++^10em^[view details...|click for details]\n put some detail here, which could include a rollover with a +++^25em^*[glossary definition]explaining technical terms===\n ===\n===\n}}}\n+++^[get info...=I|click for information or press Alt-I]\n put some general information here, plus a floating slider with more specific info:\n +++^10em^[view details...|click for details]\n put some detail here, which could include a rollover with a +++^25em^*[glossary definition]explaining technical terms===\n ===\n===\n===\n!!!!!Installation\n<<<\nimport (or copy/paste) the following tiddlers into your document:\n''NestedSlidersPlugin'' (tagged with <<tag systemConfig>>)\n<<<\n!!!!!Revision History\n<<<\n''2007.03.01 - 2.0.2'' for TW2.2+, hijack Morpher.prototype.stop so that "overflow:hidden" can be reset to "overflow:visible" after animation ends\n''2007.03.01 - 2.0.1'' in hijack for Slider.prototype.stop, use apply() to pass params to core function\n''2006.07.28 - 2.0.0'' added custom class syntax around label/tip/key syntax: {{{{{classname{[label=key|tip]}}}}}}\n''2006.07.25 - 1.9.3'' when parsing slider, save default open/closed state in button element, then in onClickNestedSlider(), if slider state matches saved default, instead of saving cookie, delete it.
